Essaouira Darna Association is an establishment of social protection that welcomes abandoned kids , and those who are in difficult situations – no “ The “ Essaouira Province. It also provides social benefits to this very same category.

In 2005, and in partnership with Essaouira province, the project of “Essaouira Darna” was born in the context of the INDH programme ( National Initiative for Human Development ).

The association officially opened its doors on March 21, 2008, and started welcoming abandoned children and those in difficult situations coming mainly from other associations like Nejma Association and Nour Mogador Association.

The establishment became legally licensed on April 28, 2009, in conformity with law N°141-05 according to the decision N° 10/09 of the Ministry of Women’s Solidarity, Family, and Social Development, for the capacity of 60 beneficiaries.

On August 20, 2017, the establishment was authorised, in accordance with Law 14-05, to increase the reception capacity to 120 beneficiaries.

The establishment is now managed by an association made up of seven members, including three women.
